A cubbyhole is a very small space, used especially for storing things. It might be a tiny , a little open box in a desk, or a room so small it barely feels like a room. People also use it, with a small smile, for any snug corner they tuck things — or themselves — into. It is informal: fine at home or at work, a bit too for a formal report.
