Crummy means poor in quality, or just unpleasant. A crummy hotel is cheap and a bit sad. A crummy day is one you did not enjoy. You can also say you feel crummy when you feel slightly ill or low — not very sick, just not right. It is informal. You would not put it in a careful report. It is more at home in American English, though British speakers use it too. Though actually, it started as crumby, meaning full of , like a messy table; from there it drifted toward “cheap, no good.” Some people still write crumby, but crummy is the usual spelling for the “bad” meaning. It is not a swear word, but it is not polite praise either.
組成A later spelling of crumby, from the mid-1800s. Crumby first meant “full of crumbs”, then came to mean poor or unpleasant.
