Crop-dusting is flying a small plane very low over fields to drop or spray something on the plants — usually insect killer or weed killer, sometimes plant food. People also call it crop-spraying, which is the same job. “Dusting” is the older name, from when the stuff really was a dry powder; though actually a lot of it is liquid spray now, the old word stuck. It is farm work from the air, and it is dangerous flying, because the plane has to stay close to the ground. You may hear it used as a picture for covering a whole area quickly, but the home meaning is the farm plane.
空中噴藥、飛機噴灑農藥(dusting 是舊叫法,現在多半是液體,但名字還在)
組成crop (the plants farmers grow) + dusting (dropping a powder over something). No deeper split.
