Cozy is the usual American spelling of . The meaning is the same: warm, snug, and comfortably small — a cozy room, a cozy blanket, a cozy evening. British English still prefers in careful writing; American English almost always the z. People also use it a little loosely, and not always as praise. A cozy deal or a cozy relationship with the people in charge can mean too close, maybe not quite honest. As a noun, a cozy is the knitted cover you put on a to keep the heat in (a tea cozy).
