Coquetry is the behaviour of a coquette: playful, teasing ways of drawing a man’s attention without meaning the feeling is deep or honest. A look, a laugh, a little praise that is not quite true — that kind of thing. The word is rather old and . Younger people usually say flirting. It can sound judging, as if someone is playing a game with feelings. You will meet it in novels more than in the street. It names the act, not the person; the person is a coquette.
