    Copiously is how you say that something happens, or is produced, in large quantities. She cried copiously. Blood flowed copiously. He wrote copiously in the margins. It is the adverb twin of copious, and it has the same slightly formal, feel. In everyday speech, a lot or a great deal often does the same job. Use it when you want to stress that the amount was really large, not just “some.”
