A communicator is someone who can put ideas or feelings across so other people really receive them. We use it as praise: a clear communicator, a gifted communicator. Job ads say “excellent communicator” when they want someone who explains without fog — in speech, writing, or sometimes pictures and signs. It is not about talking the most. A quiet person can be a fine communicator if people leave knowing what was meant. The word names the person, not the message.
