Colossally is the adverb from colossal. You put it in front of an adjective, or sometimes a verb, when you want to shout extremely with a little drama: colossally expensive, colossally successful, colossally wrong. Though actually, it is not an everyday word. Very and extremely do most of the work; colossally is what you reach for when extremely still feels too small, and you want a slightly literary punch. You will meet it more in writing and in colourful speech than in quiet conversation.
