cm is the short written form of or — a small unit of length. There are 100 in a metre, so one is a tiny slice of a metre, about the width of a . You write it after a number (10 cm). It belongs on the page, the ruler, and the label; in speech, people usually say the full word, or in Taiwan they often just use Chinese. This cm is not the Japanese “CM” you may see on TV, which means a commercial — an advertisement — from English commercial + message. Same letters, different word.
cm 是 centimetre（公分）的縮寫，也就是一百分之一公尺，大約是一根指甲的寬度。寫的時候放在數字後面，例如 10 cm。它多半出現在尺、標籤和書面資料上，口語裡通常會直接說完整的字，台灣人也常直接說「公分」。
日文裡的 CM 指的是 commercial message，也就是電視上的廣告。字母一樣，但那是另一個詞。
