cm is the short written form of or — a small unit of length. There are 100 in a metre, so one is a tiny slice of a metre, about the width of a . You write it after a number (10 cm). It belongs on the page, the ruler, and the label; in speech, people usually say the full word, or in Taiwan they often just use Chinese. This cm is not the Japanese “CM” you may see on TV, which means a commercial — an advertisement — from English commercial + message. Same letters, different word.
