Though actually, nurses, psychologists, and other people who work directly with patients are also called clinicians, especially in hospital and research English that sets ‘clinicians’ against ‘researchers.’ It is a formal, professional word. You will see it in medical papers and hospital English, not in small talk. Clinical here does not mean cold or ; it means ‘at the / in the clinic.’
