Classlessness is the state of being classless: a world, or a hope of a world, where people are not divided into social classes. You reach for the noun when you want to talk about the idea itself, not just describe a society with an adjective. Writers use it in and history. They argue whether classlessness is possible, or whether a country has moved toward it. It is a heavy, formal word; you will almost never hear it in a shop. Though actually, students sometimes treat it as another word for equality. Equality is wider — fair treatment, equal rights. Classlessness is narrower: not living in stacked social groups.
