A catnap is a very short sleep: ten minutes in a chair, twenty on a sofa, not a night in bed. You can take a catnap (noun) or catnap (verb). The picture is cats, who take many small, light sleeps through the day instead of one long block. The word is friendly and informal — family talk, offices, travel. Close words are nap, doze, and snooze. A “power nap” is a planned short sleep; a catnap often feels even lighter, something you snatch. Though actually a catnap can help a tired driver, it is not the same as real night sleep, and a long daytime sleep may leave you groggy rather than fresh.
小睡、打盹、瞇一下
