In American English, this is the everyday word for the box a dead body is placed in for burial — what British English usually calls a 'coffin'. There is an older, less common meaning too: a small, box for keeping jewellery or other precious things safe.

組成Probably comes from an old French word for a small box. Some people connect it to 'cask' (a barrel), but that link isn't certain, so I won't promise it.
