A caplet is a kind of pill: solid medicine, like a tablet, but a little longer and narrower — a smooth oval rather than a round disc. Makers shape it this way so it is easier to swallow than a fat round tablet. Though actually, a caplet is not a capsule. A capsule is a little shell, often with powder or gel inside, and you can sometimes pull it open. A caplet is one solid piece; it only looks a bit like a capsule. You will see the word on medicine bottles and packets in English-speaking countries. In everyday talk many people just say pill and do not bother with the difference. It is a pharmacy-and-label word, not a kitchen word.
