    Candyfloss is a sweet made from very fine, sticky threads of sugar, usually pink, wound around a stick. You buy it at fairs and by the sea. It looks like a cloud and melts on your tongue. This is the British name. Americans say cotton candy; in Australia you may hear fairy floss. It is an everyday, slightly word. Though actually the sugar is not always pink — it can be white or other colours — but pink is the picture most people have in mind.
