Candour is the habit of telling the truth in a straight way, even when the truth will sting a little or make someone feel awkward. It is not the same as being rude: a person with candour is trying to be honest, not trying to win. The word feels a bit formal, so you meet it in writing, in speeches, and when people talk about someone's character. You can show candour about your own mistakes, or speak with candour to a friend. This is the usual British spelling; American English candor. Though actually, when someone begins with "in all candour," they are often about to be blunt, not gentle.
組成From Latin candor, which first meant brightness or whiteness, and later came to mean openness and honesty.
