Camden is a borough in North London — a named local area of the city. People often mean Camden Town, a part of that borough famous for unusual clothes shops, live music, night clubs, restaurants, and the market around Camden Lock. For many visitors, “Camden” means a busy weekend at the market: stalls, punk and clothes, food, and the canal. Though actually it is also a real place where people live, and parts of the borough are thought of as fashionable; the market is only one piece. There is more than one Camden in the world, including in the United States, but in British English, said on its own, it usually means this bit of London. It is a place-name, not a common noun you can make plural in the ordinary way.
