Camber is a small, gentle curve built into a surface. On a road, the middle is a little higher than the two sides, so rain runs off toward the gutters instead of sitting in a . Builders give a road this shape on purpose. You can also talk about camber on a path, a roof, a bridge deck, or a running track — anywhere the middle is raised a bit so water can leave. It is a specialist word: ordinary conversation may never use it, but road workers and drainage people do. It is not slang and not ; it is just the accurate name for that shape. People who work with cars use the same word in another way. Camber is how much a wheel leans in or out at the top (not how it points left or right). If a tyre is wearing on one edge, a mechanic may say the camber is off. As a verb, to camber something is to give it that curve: a crew cambers a road when they build it higher in the middle. Both the road meaning and the wheel meaning are real; the surrounding talk tells you which one it is.
