A call-out is a situation in which a worker is asked to leave their base and come to someone’s house, shop, or the to help or repair something — a in the night, a mechanic for a car that will not start, an engineer for a machine at work. You have a call-out; the firm may charge a call-out fee just for arriving, before any fixing begins. Though actually, this noun is especially British and trade-like. American English more often says a service call, a house call, or “they came out.” And the verb to call someone out is a different, newer use: to challenge them in public. That is not this entry. This call-out is the practical word you see on and in British news.
這個名詞指師傅被叫出門，到你家、店裡或路邊去處理東西，像半夜來的水電工，或來修車的技師。公司常會收一筆 「call-out fee」，也就是光是到場就要付的出勤費，還沒開始修就先收。它是英式英文的常用詞，在帳單和英國新聞裡很常見。
