1. 1

A buzzcut is a haircut that is very short all over the head. The uses electric clippers, and those clippers make a buzzing sound — that is the buzz. You often see it on men, on soldiers, and on anyone who wants hair that is quick, cool, or easy to wash. It can be one short length, or a little longer on top, but it never looks like long hair. Women wear it too, though actually many people still picture a man when they hear the word. It is informal and not rude. In a shop in Taiwan you might just say you want it very short, or ask for a 平頭; the English name makes you hear the clippers.
