Bumf is a British informal word for boring written information you are supposed to read: forms, , notices, the extra paper that comes with a bill or a school pack. It is not one important letter. It is the pile that eats your time. The word is and a bit rude in its history, so it belongs in casual talk, not in a formal letter. Older British speakers and some newspapers still use it; many young people barely say it, and Americans almost never do. When someone sighs “more bumf,” they mean more paper they do not want.
