A bullshitter is a person who talks rubbish with a straight face — things that are stupid, empty, or just not true — often to fool you, to look important, or to wriggle out of trouble. The talk itself is bullshit; the person who deals in it is the bullshitter. Friends may throw the word around as a harsh joke. It is a dirty, informal word, stronger and ruder than saying someone likes to boast. Do not use it with a teacher, in a letter, at work, or with anyone you should be polite to. Though actually, people sometimes use it more loosely for anyone who talks a lot and sounds sure, even when they are only showing off, not running a real trick.
