A bullring is the round arena where a bullfight is held: sand in the middle, seats stacked around it, the bull and the fighters coming out into that open circle. The famous ones are in Spain and in parts of Latin America; it is a place-word from that tradition, not from Taiwan daily life. Though actually, English also stretches it a little: a round racetrack that looks like one may be called a bullring too, especially in car racing. The core picture is still the bullfight arena.
