In American talk, a Buick means one of those cars, the way people say a Toyota. It is a family name: the company is named after David Dunbar Buick, an inventor from a Scottish family in America. You say it BYOO-ik, not like buck. In Taiwan the badge you already know is 別克. Though actually, the exact cars sold in one country are not always the same cars sold in another, but the name still points to that GM brand.
