If you are buddy-buddy with someone, you are being very friendly with them — almost like best friends, and often in a way that looks a bit too close. People use it when the warmth feels , or when it might not be fair. A teacher who is buddy-buddy with one student can make the others feel left out. A worker who gets buddy-buddy with the boss may look as if they want special treatment. It is informal and a bit teasing, and it is not really a compliment if someone says you are being too buddy-buddy. You can use it like an adjective (a buddy-buddy relationship) or like a verb (don't buddy-buddy with the clients).
