Budapest is the capital of Hungary, and also its biggest city. It sits on the River in the middle of Europe. Though actually it used to be two towns looking at each other across the water: Buda on the west side, and Pest on the flatter east side. They joined into one city, and the English name is just those two names stuck together. People go there for old buildings, hot baths in the ground, and a huge parliament house by the river. In English the stress is near the front: BU-da-pest.
