1. 1

Bucolic means “of the countryside” — fields, farms, animals, and a quiet life away from the city. It is a word. A writer may describe a bucolic scene or a bucolic poem, and the picture is usually peaceful and pretty. Though actually, that picture is tidier than farm life: the word comes from Greek for “of cowherds,” but modern writers often stretch it to any sweet country mood, not only people who keep cows. You would not call a noisy town bucolic just because there are fields nearby. almost always meet it as an adjective; the old noun “a bucolic” (a country poem) is rarer.

    田園的、牧歌的(書面語;帶點理想化的鄉間風光)
