Brutishness is the name of that quality: a cruel, thick way of treating people, without noticing their feelings. You do not hear the word as often as cruelty or brutality. Though actually they are not perfect twins. Brutality leans toward violence; brutishness leans toward a coarse, unfeeling manner — the tone, the manners, the lack of care. It is simply the noun of brutish.
