When cloth is brushed, a machine has run brushes over it so tiny fibres stand up. The surface feels soft and a little fuzzy, like a peach or a warm jumper. Shops sell brushed cotton and brushed fleece this way — the cloth keeps heat and feels nice on the skin. This is a finish, a way the cloth was made, not a story about cleaning. You will see it on clothing labels. Though actually, people also say brushed steel for metal with fine lines on it; that is a different use. This entry is about soft cloth.
刷毛的(布料)。賣場標籤常寫「刷毛棉」「刷毛帽T」,不是用刷子刷髒污。
組成brush + -ed. Here -ed does not mainly mean “this happened in the past”; it means “this has been treated that way.” The cloth has been gone over with brushes so the surface is soft.

- brushthe tool that raises the soft surface on the cloth
