In the older kitchen sense, a breadboard is a wooden board you cut bread on — often with a little groove to catch . You might also just say cutting board; breadboard is the more specific word. Though actually, if someone says breadboard today, many people picture a small plastic board full of holes, used to try out electric circuits without soldering. That later use probably grew from people once building circuits on a real kitchen bread board with nails, or from brown boards with holes looking a bit like a slice of bread — or both. This entry is the kitchen board.
