A bozo is a person you think is silly or stupid. It is a rude, joking insult, not a careful word. People throw it at someone who has just done something dumb, or at someone they simply do not respect. It is American, informal, and a little old-fashioned, but you still hear it. It is not a kind nickname. Do not use it about a friend unless you are both laughing, and never use it at work or with someone you do not know well.

組成The word does not split into English pieces. It has been used in American English since the 1910s, and where it came from is not settled. It may come from Spanish bozal. It is older than Bozo the Clown (1946), so the clown did not give us the insult.
