Bosh is a slightly old, informal word for talk or ideas that you think are silly, empty, or not true. You can call a claim “bosh,” or say “That’s bosh!” the way people now say rubbish or nonsense. It came into English in the 1800s from Ottoman Turkish boş, meaning “empty,” and it spread because of popular novels by James Justinian Morier. Some British speakers still use it, especially older ones, and you will see it in older writing. Younger people more often say nonsense, rubbish, or that’s garbage. It is not a strong swear; it is more of a than a shout. There is a completely different Bosch — a company name — which has nothing to do with this word.
組成Borrowed from Ottoman Turkish boş, “empty, unoccupied.” It entered popular English from the novels of James Justinian Morier.
