    Boohoo is the sound of crying, written down. Stories and comics use it the way they use bang for a crash: Boo-hoo! someone is . In real talk it is often not kind. If you say “boohoo” about a person’s tears, you are usually making light of them — as if the crying is a bit much, or a show. People also use it as a very informal verb: “He boohooed about the score.” Childish, , a little mocking. It is not the word you want when you truly feel sorry.
