Bloodcurdling means extremely — scary enough that you can almost feel your blood go still. People mostly put it in front of sounds and stories: a bloodcurdling scream, a bloodcurdling howl, a bloodcurdling tale. It is dramatic, a little literary; a friend telling you about a film might just say . It has nothing to do with real blood, blood tests, or illness. You would not call a creepy bloodcurdling.
