A blender is an electric kitchen machine that mixes liquids and soft foods until they become smooth. You put in fruit, milk, ice, or soup, close the lid, and the blades spin. People make drinks, sauces, and smooth soups with it. In American English this is the everyday word; British speakers also say liquidiser. There is a tall that sits on a base, and a stick you hold in the pan (a hand blender). In Taiwan the same machine is usually called a 果汁機 even when nobody is making juice — that is just the name people grew up with. It is a thing, not a person. The verb is blend: you blend the soup in the blender.
