1. 1

A birdbath is a shallow bowl, usually in a garden, filled with water so wild birds can drink and splash. It is not a bathtub for people — just a low dish on a stand, or sometimes a simple basin on the ground. You see them more in Western gardens than in typical Taiwan apartments; a balcony dish of water can do the same job. The water has to stay shallow so small birds can stand in it, and people are meant to clean it, or it grows dirty and makes birds sick. Some people also write bird bath, two words.
