Bioscience is the group of science subjects that study living things — plants, animals, cells, the human body. Biology sits in the middle, but the word is meant as a wide roof: biochemistry, microbiology, biomedical science and the rest can all live under it. Universities use it in department names; a “bioscience course” is rarely one tidy subject. In everyday talk people just say biology. Though actually, writers often treat bioscience and life science as the same umbrella. They almost are. Life science sounds a bit friendlier; bioscience sounds more lab-and-university. As a countable noun, a bioscience is one of those subjects.
