A bezzie is a best friend — the person you are closest to. It is British and very informal, the kind of word you say with a grin, not the kind you put in a school essay. You will also hear bezzie mate, which means the same thing. Though actually, most English speakers outside Britain have never used it; they say bestie, or just best friend. Americans in particular will look blank. It feels warm, young, and a bit playground or pub — friendly, not . Spellings wobble a little (bezzy turns up too), because it lives in speech more than in careful writing.
