    A beneficiary is a person who receives something good — usually money or property — because of someone else's decision or action. If your grandmother leaves you money in her will, you're a beneficiary of that will. It's also used for insurance ('the beneficiary of the policy') or programs that help people ('beneficiaries of the aid program').
