A bedroll is blankets (and often a thin mattress or ) rolled up into a bundle so you can carry them and sleep outdoors. , soldiers, and on the road have used them: at night you the bundle on the ground, and in the morning you roll it up again. It is a practical, slightly old-fashioned or outdoor word — more cowboy, scout, or hiking trail than city apartment. Though actually it is not the same as a sleeping bag. A sleeping bag is one sewn pouch you climb into; a bedroll is loose you roll. In towns people now say sleeping bag far more often; bedroll still fits when the is blankets tied in a roll.
