Barcelona is a large city in the north-east of Spain, on the Mediterranean Sea. It is the capital of Catalonia, a region with its own language, , as well as Spanish. The city is famous for its art, and for strange, beautiful buildings by the architect Gaudí — the huge church called the Sagrada Família is the one most visitors know. Though actually, when many people say Barcelona they are also thinking of the football club, FC Barcelona, one of the most famous teams in the world. Locals often care that Catalonia is not “just another part of Spain” in their minds; that is part of how the name is used in real life.
組成The English name comes from Catalan Barcelona, the city's own name.
