A bangle is a hard ring of gold, silver, glass or plastic that you wear on your wrist as jewellery. You usually slide it over your hand. It is one solid loop, so it sits loosely and can move a little. People often wear several, and they may click against each other. English took the word from Hindi, where it named a glass bracelet — South Asian jewellery that English borrowed, not an English bang plus something. A chain with a clasp is a bracelet. Shops are not always careful with the two words, but the tidy difference is: bangle = a stiff ring; bracelet = often a chain you . There is a little-used verb bangle as well; you can leave that aside. The jewellery is the meaning you will meet.
組成Borrowed from Hindi बंग्ली (baṅglī), a glass bracelet. The jewellery word is not built from English bang.
