A bailiff is a kind of officer who works for a court. In some countries, a bailiff's job is to keep order in the courtroom; in others, a bailiff is the person who comes to your home to take property away if you owe money and have not paid a court-ordered debt.

He is responsible for the orderly conduct of the States Assembly and its business.
