組成Borrowed from the scientific Latin name Azalea, which Linnaeus took from Ancient Greek azaleos 'dry', from azo 'to dry up'. He believed the plant liked dry soil — as it happens, most azaleas prefer moist soil, so the name records an old mistake rather than a fact.
