Aquarobics is done in a swimming pool: the same kind of energetic class exercise to music, but you stand and move in the water instead of on a gym floor. The water holds some of your weight, so knees and hips get less shock, while moving against the water still makes the body work. You will also see aqua , aquaerobics, and water — they point at the same class. Music plays, the teacher calls out moves, and people bounce and kick in water that is often chest-deep. It is a leisure and fitness word, not a science word. You do not have to be a strong for many of these classes, because you often stay in the shallow end; though actually, you should still feel safe in water. It is not lap swimming, and it is not a swimming lesson.
