    An anthill is the little hill of earth that ants build and live in. You see them in gardens and fields — a mound of soil with tiny holes. Inside there are tunnels and rooms for the colony. It is an ordinary, word. Children also use it for the whole nest, even when the pile is quite small. Though actually, not every ant home is an anthill. Some ants live in wood or under the ground with no mound at all, so this word is for the piled-up kind.
