Anatolia is the great land that makes up most of Turkey — the Asian side, east of the Sea of Marmara. Istanbul sits by that sea; the huge stretch of country running east is Anatolia. Though actually, Anatolia is not another name for the whole country. The country is Turkey. The small European piece west of the water is not Anatolia. Older , including many in Taiwan, call this same land Asia Minor. Same place, older English name. People have built cities there for thousands of years. It is a place name, like the south of France, not a government.
安納托利亞(土耳其的亞洲大陸部分;台灣課本常寫小亞細亞)
組成From Greek anatolē (sunrise; the east), from ana (up) + tellō (I rise) — so named because the land lay east of Greece, where the sun comes up.
