Anaheim is a city in southern California, in the United States, not far from Los Angeles. The reason so many people know the name is Disneyland: the first Disneyland park is there, so for a lot of travellers “Anaheim” just means “the place you stay when you go to Disneyland.” Though actually it is a real city with people who live there all year, not only a theme-park town. Hotels, airports, and sports teams use the name in ordinary travel English. It is a proper name, so we write it with a capital A. The name was borrowed from German Anaheim, literally “home of Ana.” That Ana is likely a nod to the Santa Ana River nearby, and German Heim means “home.”
