Americana are objects people feel are typically of the United States, especially when someone collects them: an old sign, baseball cards, a cowboy hat, a 1950s , a tray. The word names the whole mix, not one thing, so you do not say an Americana. Collectors, museums, and gift shops use it. People also stretch it to songs, films, and a warm old-USA mood, though the core meaning here is the things you can put on a shelf.
