Ajax is a warrior in the old Greek stories of the War, the ones Homer tells in the Iliad. He fights on Agamemnon's side — the Greek side. People remember him as huge and brave: he carries a shield like a wall, and he stands up to Hector, Troy's greatest fighter, more than once.
